Daniel Abdo, Senior Vice President, Global Learning Organization

Daniel Abdo is a learning professional who specializes in strategic learning solutions and technologies. Daniel Abdo is the product manager for employee development learning at Bank of America. Prior to joining Bank of America, Daniel served as co-founder and executive vice president of a global workforce performance consulting firm. Daniel has led dozens of learning strategy & technology based initiatives for Fortune 500 companies throughout his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, IBM, and  Stranix. Daniel holds a B.S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. He currently resides in South Florida, and spends his free time surfing, scuba diving and fishing.

John Ambrose, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Corporate Development and Emerging Business, Skillsoft

John Ambrose identifies new strategic opportunities for Skillsoft and oversees the operations of Skillsoft's Books24x7 and the Leadership Development Channel. Previously, he had served as vice president and general manager of Books24x7, a subsidiary of Skillsoft and the developer of online Referenceware® which he co-founded. Books24x7 was acquired by Skillsoft in December 2001.

John has more than 24 years of experience in executive, international business development, web marketing and software marketing roles. Prior to Books24x7, he held executive positions, including CEO of DeltaPoint, a NASDAQ-listed web tools software firm in Monterey, CA, and vice president of corporate marketing for SystemSoft, a firmware company based in Natick, MA

Angie Ballinger, Commercial and Leadership Portfolio Global Lead

Angie joined Cargill in 2011 and currently leads the L&D Commercial and Leadership Portfolio teams, which oversees L&D’s strategic initiatives. As the lead of the Commercial Portfolio, her team is responsible for designing, developing and managing the Sales Effectiveness program, the Marketing Academy, the Trading Academy and the Managing Projects at Cargill course. The Leadership Portfolio team is responsible for managing and deploying the High Performance Leadership Academy programs. Before joining Cargill, Angie worked for 3 years at GfK, a leading market research company, where she was a Senior Director leading the Customer Loyalty group. Prior to that, Angie spent 14 years as a Senior Consultant at The Gallup Organization, a global performance management consulting firm. She has a General Business and Mathematics degree from Creighton University and a Masters of Applied Mathematics  degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dan Bielenberg, Director of Learning & Talent Development

Dan currently leads Learning & Talent Development for Accenture’s Strategy business. He has helped drive the overall  strategy for Accenture’s Learning & Talent Development  Center of Expertise, including innovations in learning strategy and  learning architectures across Accenture.  Dan has over 25 years of experience in organizational learning, from strategy formulation to instructional design and technology innovation. His current focus is developing strategies and solutions to address the critical talent challenges across Accenture’s diverse global workforce.  Dan has a Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design from Florida State University.

Pete Beck, Director of Learning Technology & Operations

Pete’s career at Verizon Wireless spans more than 25 years, of which 20 have been in the learning organization. His role over the last seven years has been as Director of Learning Technology & Operations. He is responsible for the strategic direction and transformation of Wireless’ enterprise knowledge management, learning content management and learning platforms. His oversight includes operational applications and administration, reporting & analytics, and administration of learning effectiveness. His organization is also entrusted with deploying innovative learning applications with personalized and contextualized content that With Pete’s involvement, Verizon Wireless has been ranked by Training Magazine as a Top 125 Premier Learning Organization for 12 consecutive years—attaining #1 for two consecutive years before reaching their Hall of Fame in 2014. VW has also won two Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards -- Silver for Best Advance in Unique Learning Technology in 2012, and Bronze for Best Advance in Learning Management Technology in 2013.

Vernon "Bud" Blom, Director, Learning Solutions

Bud currently serves as Director, Learning Solutions at the newly-merged MUFG Union Bank, N.A. At MUFG, he heads up the new hire onboarding program for 14,000+ employees nationwide. Bud has over 25 years of experience leveraging his training background and experience in human resources to bring together the creative energies and practices of Union Bank and MUFG’s talent to create a dynamic experience. During his career, he has been an instructor, designer, developer, video producer and creative director. He has also designed and deployed the training curriculum for 16 acquisitions and integrations.

Steve Boese, HR Technology Conference Co-Chair at LRP Publications

Steve is currently a Co-Chair of the HR Technology Conference and a Technology Editor at LRP Publications. He was previously a Director of TaIent Management Product Strategy at Oracle, on the product team building the next generation of Enterprise HCM solutions, Oracle Fusion HCM. Additionally, Steve has over 20 years experience implementing enterprise technologies for Human Resources, Recruiting, Finance and Distribution, including significant experience with Oracle Applications in numerous industries and locations. I have served in a wide range of roles from team member, to team lead, to Project Manager, and Manager of HR Technology.

Janice Burns has more than 20 years of experience at MasterCard in financial services, payments and technology focused on Product Management, Human Capital Strategy, Talent Development, Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Relations and Organizational Development. She has held several roles, including Chief Learning Officer; Chief Diversity Officer, HR Business Partner, Product Manager and various other positions. In her current role at Dell, Gina’s primary responsibility is focused on designing, developing and implementing a long-term training and development strategy for a global organization. Gina has been with Dell for 10 years and has fulfilled multiple roles such as a technical account manager, team lead and regional senior manager for Latin America. In previous roles at Dell, Gina led the efforts focused on people capabilities, building the framework for various learning and development, communications, and SharePoint programs.

Focused on identifying, delivering and measuring effective learning solutions that drive business results, Cory is the leader of an industry-recognized team focused on all aspects of learning enablement. Cory currently leads Learning Technologies and Measurement for the Cox Automotive companies and previously was Manager of Learning Technologies for Cox Communications, and Vice-President/ Senior Analyst for Citigroup Employee Services in New York. Bridgette Dalzell, Head of Alternate Resourcing & Learning

Bridgett has been with telecom provider Spark New Zealand for more than 20 years in various leadership roles in learning, development and people capability. Bridgette currently leads operations and strategy for call center training, design and development of Spark's Agenda @ Home program, which has 150 customer service agents working across all areas of new Zealand from their home environments. Bridgette has also headed Spark's offshoring operations in Manila, The Philippines.

Rachel Disselkamp, Chief Learning Officer

Rachel leads the development of a new professional education and certification program poised to transform the field of workforce management (WFM). Rachel has helped the market understand that ineffective management and use of technology does not imply ineffective technology.  

She was the development editor for the Workforce Asset Management Book of Knowledge for Wiley Publishing in 2013, and has since spent her time researching and collaborating with employers, industry leaders, and experts on the role of technology in human capital management, workforce planning, compliance, labor leakage, and workforce analytics.

Rachel’s organization, the Association for Workforce Asset Management (AWAM), designates workforce management professionals as strategically minded technology experts and business leaders. Rachel has worked with over 75 industry leaders and professionals to shape the WAM-Pro® Certification Program. When she isn’t helping WFM practitioners elevate their profession, Rachel climbs 14,000 foot mountains and backpacks through the Colorado wilderness.
